Braskem is a Brazilian petrochemical company and the world’s leading biopolymer producer. It has production units in Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Germany. It specializes in olefins like ethylene and propylene, which are used to make polyolefins such as polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC. Braskem was created in August 2002 from a merger of six companies. It’s headquartered in São Paulo, with a European base in Frankfurt, Germany.
