Founded in 1972, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is the world’s largest shipbuilder. It builds containerships, tankers, drill ships, speciality vessels, among others. Its business is divided into seven segments: shipbuilding, offshore & engineering, industrial plant & engineering, engine and machinery, electro & electrical systems, construction equipment and green energy. Its manufacturing facility in Ulsan, located in the south-east of South Korea, is the world’s largest shipyard. It covers an area of 1,780 acres.
