The Japan Tobacco Group is a global company based in Tokyo, Japan. The company is involved in the manufacture of tobacco, pharmaceuticals and processed foods. In 1999 the company acquired the non US operations of the American tobacco company R.J. R. Nabisco. The company has also acquired the UK based Gallaher Group Plc in 2007 and expanded its product range into shisha and e cigarettes through the acquisition of Nakhla and Zandera. Some of its bestselling products include Winston, Camel, Silk Cut, Benson & Hedges and Sobranie cigarettes. The company also manufactures a range of cigars, fine cut tobacco and smokeless tobacco and sells its products in more than 120 countries around the world.
