Wells Fargo is one of the largest banks in the United States, with more than 8,700 branches in 40-plus states. In 2015, it surpassed Citigroup as the third-largest U.S. bank by assets. It specializes in investment banking, securities investment, commercial real estate and capital finance. The company is also the second largest U.S. bank in terms of deposits, home mortgage servicing and debit cards. It has operations across 35 countries, with 13,000 ATMs and over 70 million customers globally. Wells Fargo was founded in 1852.
