Three types of carrier aggregation - intra-band contiguous, intra-band non-contiguous, and inter-band - are distinguished depending on the locations of the component carriers. Contiguous carrier aggregation occurs when multiple component carriers are in the same frequency band. Carrier aggregation is intra-band non-contiguous when the component carriers belong to a single frequency band but are spaced apart by a gap.
The most challenging scenario is when the component carriers are in various frequency bands. When used in heterogeneous networks, this is called inter-band carrier aggregation. From a baseband perspective, there is no distinction between these three situations. But in the case of inter-band carrier aggregation, the complexity from a radio frequency (RF) perspective is increased.
User devices and radio access networks (RAN) have carrier aggregation methods built into their software. They give mobile network operators (MNOs) the opportunity to combine the strengths of radio cells to improve user experience and network efficiency. Some of the factors anticipated to drive the progress of the market include increasing worldwide mobile traffic, the demand for faster data speeds, and a greater focus on research and development efforts by public and private research institutions.
Some important aspects impacting IoT development in the region include the widespread adoption of IoT-enabled devices, prominent IoT R&D expenditure, and the involvement of big market participants. Additionally, the existence of industrialized nations with stable economies, like the United States and Canada, may considerably stimulate corporations to invest in R&D operations. The rapid digitalization of all key economic sectors, the increasing use of smart devices, as well as technological developments, have all fueled the expansion of the Internet of Things. As a result, IoT capabilities are helping Canadian businesses improve and streamline their operating processes.
Additionally, the region has established relationships with IoT vendors, which supports the growth of the business. As a result, the number of devices as well as new IoT use cases, would expand due to emerging wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi 6 and 5G, which would also enable service providers to create enticing cellular IoT packages for their clients. These factors would accelerate the regional market's growth during the forecast period.
