Total Productive Maintenance is a systematic proactive approach that includes periodic, predictive and corrective maintenance, and has a goal of identifying and eliminating waste or loss associated with production equipment. TPM is integral to the Lean Production system, and is part of the foundation of operational stability that makes Lean possible.
