Fertile ground: Demand for fertilisers and related agricultural products to nourish revenue
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Industrial and Agricultural Chemical Product Wholesaling industry was performing well due to greater demand from the agriculture sector and steady growth in the number of businesses. A decline in business confidence in 2019-20 and government-mandated temporary lockdowns for most businesses in the first quarter of 2020-21, excluding agriculture, reduced demand for industry goods for the year. However, industry revenue recovered over the subsequent two years due to some higher pricing and greater demand from key markets.
Industry operators wholesale a range of industrial and agricultural chemicals, fertiliser, pesticides, herbicides and allied products. Firms that wholesale pharmaceuticals or personal care products are excluded from the industry.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
