The courses and workshops are focused on helping analysts, consultants, and strategists learn about the core topics in the FLTA® curriculum, while our workshops are designed to help leaders and professionals maximize the value of the content and time invested in The FLTA program. The workshops and our course Write the Future build on FLTA® content and include actionable takeaways and frameworks to discuss new technologies and trends that present opportunities and risks for learner organizations. 

In this course, the Chairman of the course offers a futurist perspective into the potential long-term changes, challenges, and opportunities that the COVID-19 pandemic is likely to present for over a dozen different critical fields and industries, including the future of work, education, healthcare, supply chain, finance, energy, national security, and more. This course includes a discussion of futurist expectations as well as how to craft and communicate your own futurist expectations and forecasts in a time of crisis.

Staying ahead of changes in technology is critical for your professional success, and the term “future of work” is invoked when discussing changes that future technology will have on jobs. Innovations could have drastic implications for you, your family, your friends, and your career. The Future of Work course places future changes in a historical context. This course also presents some valuable data to help learners understand the impact technological advancements will have, and how learners can be robot-proof.

Businesses have an incredible opportunity to leverage data to their advantage, but only if they can harness the power of that data to yield real, valuable, and actionable insights. This course examines some of the hottest trends in data, including The Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Data Visualization, and Big Data. The Future of Data explains what these terms mean, and how they could impact you. This course also illustrates proper data collection and analysis process management, and how to effectively present your data.

The core attributes of leadership will need to be adaptive as disruptive technologies impact industries, professions, and society at large. The need to build skills, be seen as a leader, and be able to manage people, data and robots will be critical in the future of leadership. Building high levels of competence in multiple areas, perpetual learning, and mentorship will be critical parts of leadership as the workforce evolves.

Financial Technology, or FinTech, refers to technological innovations in the financial services industry. New technologies have allowed for a democratization of services, disintermediation of service costs, and a more user-friendly financial services experience. The Future of Finance course fosters a broad understanding of FinTech, by discussing current trends, and sharing a vision of what the Future of Finance might look like.

Transportation is one of the biggest industries in the world, and recent technological developments have the potential to disrupt transportation at every level. Self-driving cars and drones are gaining ground, while some future technologies - like the Hyperloop - could fundamentally change the transport of physical goods and people. The Future of Transportation course takes an in-depth look at the transportation industry, recent technological impacts on the industry, and establishes a vision of what the Future of Transportation might look like.

The future of energy is changing. The mix of energy consumption and the sources of energy supply and demand are in flux. In the coming years and decades, the critical sources of additional energy supply and market-driving demand will shift drastically. Meanwhile, energy technology is also changing, including automated solutions and the use of big data. But some expectations are too extreme since there are physical limitations to both the rollout of electric vehicles, as well as to the variability of some renewable sources of power generation.

Technology innovation is a critical part of the future of healthcare. New and emerging technologies will have a significant impact on healthcare, from surgery-assisted robotics to wearables. There are also important changes coming for healthcare as a result of improvements in how data is collected, and how it can be used to push innovation and drive improved outcomes. Other major changes will occur in the way people access their healthcare, use their health insurance, and receive medical entitlements.

There is a growing need for a step-change in computer processing power that is driving a technological push to develop the first commercially viable quantum computer. The exponentially stronger computational potential of quantum computers could foster scientific discovery, break blockchains, and trigger a global cybersecurity arms race.   Before founding Prestige Economics, Mr. Schenker worked as a Risk Specialist at McKinsey and Company, where he provided content direction to trading, risk, and commodity project teams on six continents. Prior to McKinsey, Mr. Schenker was the Chief Energy and Commodity Economist at Wachovia Bank, which is now part of Wells Fargo.
  
  Based in Austin, Mr. Schenker is one of only 100 CEOs on the Texas Business Leadership Council, a non-partisan group that advises Texas elected leadership at the state and federal level. He also sits on multiple boards and he is a Governance Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
