PortMA defines a Destination venue as an event where consumers go to “play.” These are typically entertainment, sporting, or community-based events. Many event marketers turn to report benchmarks to see how their campaigns compare to others.
Destination event benchmarking metrics presented in this report come from 94,066 consumer exit interviews conducted at 1,947 sponsorship events held at destination (entertainment) venues. More specifically, various event type classifications included in this report consist of athletic events, community events, concerts, conventions fairs/festivals, and B2B trade shows. The travel and tourism industry often play a large role with these types of event sponsorship activations.
Several benchmarks surrounding consumer reach, impact, and return-on-investment can be gathered from this report to compare against other destination event sponsorships campaigns.
