Launched in November 2017, Boeing HorizonX India Innovation Challenge 1.0, is aimed at accelerating aerospace innovations in India. The challenge in collaboration with India's startup T-Hub, invited innovative Indian startups to propose their solutions addressing challenges in areas including autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing, industrial IoT, analytics, AI, and machine learning.

In July 2017, Boeing partnered with 1776 to support tech startups across Middle East and North Africa. Under this partnership, Boeing will sponsor Challenge Cup Dubai, one of 75 local pitch competitions of 1776’s Challenge Cup, which aims identify innovative technology startups addressing challenges in complex, regulated industries. This program helps Boeing HorizonX, Boeing’s company’s innovation cell, to gain access to innovative technology startups and accelerate potentially transformative aerospace technologies, manufacturing innovation, and emerging business models.

In October 2019, Boeing and Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) have launched a two-year investment program to support start-up companies in the UK aerospace industry. Boeing aims to invest £2 million ($2.45 million) over the two-years. It is a three-month accelerator program that identifies startups creating Industry 4.0 and sustainability enabling technologies, while the potential start-ups could receive up to £100,000 ($137,000) each. Apart from financial support the program also provides expert mentoring to enhance the UK’s start-up community and strengthen aerospace innovation.

In October 2015, Boeing collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University to establish Boeing/Carnegie Mellon Aerospace Data Analytics Lab, an academic research initiative that leverages university's leadership in machine learning, language technologies and data analytics. The lab aims to explore the use AI and big data technologies to capitalize on huge amount of data generated in the design, construction. and operation of aircraft.

Boeing announced in May 2022 that it aims to construct a research and technology hub in Northern Virginia as part of its attempt to tap into engineering and technology expertise across the United States and around the world. The hub will aim to make breakthroughs in cyber security, autonomous operations, quantum sciences, and software and systems engineering. In addition, Boeing also designated Northern Virginia as its new headquarters.
