Wide Area Monitoring Systems: Infrastructure and Applications consolidates and builds on the technical literature surrounding WAMs, theoretically and practically explaining current challenges and guiding readers with concrete methods. Coverage includes infrastructural considerations, power applications, hardware and software, techniques for protection, and implementation considerations. The book provides a diverse range of advanced methods and best practices with case studies of WAMs in operation. These methods include complex smart grid system protection, smart grid system protection with renewable resources, wide area protection (phase portrait) tools, protection based on IoT, varieties of wireless based WAMs protection, PMUs location, Software and Hardware WAMs structure, and more.

Table of Contents
