The analyst expects the UAE’s construction industry to expand by 5.6% in real terms in 2024, supported by improving economic conditions, and public and private sector investment in the construction of major projects in the transportation, energy, and housing sectors. Growth in 2024 will also be supported by elevated oil prices, net-zero emission targets, expanding real estate markets, and greater regional integration.

The UAE construction industry is expected to register annual growth of 3.9% from 2025 to 2027, supported by investments in infrastructure, renewable energy, oil and gas, housing, industrial and tourism projects. In April 2024, the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) announced that the Abu Dhabi Executive Council approved the launch of 144 projects across the emirate. These were approved with a total expenditure of approximately AED66 billion ($18 billion) and will cover several sectors, such as natural resources, tourism, education and human capital, and housing and quality of life. Of the total investment, AED59 billion ($16.1 billion) was allocated to establish various housing and public facilities throughout the emirate, AED4 billion ($1.1 billion) was allocated for education and human capital, and around AED1.9 billion ($517.4 million) was allocated for emirate’s natural resources and enhancing infrastructure development, while the remaining AED1.1 billion ($299.5 million) for boosting tourism.
