Governmental Direction

• The Industrial Standard for Biobased Succinic Acid (Exposure Draft) was made public.

Starch-based sugar project:

• Tongliao Zhongyuan's "starch-based sugar production line technology upgrading and expansion project" was completed, giving it an additional 70,000 t/a starch-based sugar capacity.
• The environmental impact report of Fujin Liangdu's "liquid sugar project" was publicised.

Ethanol project:

• Shuangyashan Hongzhan's "corn-based fuel ethanol project" passed inspection.
• Mengzhou Houyuan has a new capacity of 30,000 t/a of 99.98% ethanol.

Xylose project:

• Nanle Shengjiu completed its "40,000 t/a of xylose retrofitting and expansion project"
• Jiaozuo Huakang finished its "30,000 t/a D-xylose intelligent upgrading project".

Furfural project:

• Bayannur Zhongke's "20,000 t/a furfural production project" is in the EI report publication process.
• Heilongjiang Yuchuang plans to scale up its furfural capacity by 10,000 t/a.
• Tongliao Meihua proposed an "MSG project" and an "isoleucine project".
• The second phase of Qinhuangdao Huaheng's "50,000 t/a malic acid project" was completed and checked.
• Zhongzheng Biochemical launched "10,000 t/a DDDA technology upgrading project".

Price Update:

• MSG prices continued to fall in Q2.
• Import and Export: China's export volume of MSG in May fell from last month; but the combined export volume for Jan.-May has increased over the same period last year, with Thailand being the largest destination.
