DOT Breath Alcohol Technician Refresher Training is a 3 hour course for EBT device training only. Students who complete the course will sharpen their DOT breath alcohol testing skills for competent workplace application.
Course Overview
Important Note: This course requires the student to have an Evidential Breath Testing Device (EBT) Device for demonstrations and enough mouthpieces for completing more than 7 mocks (at least 10 spare mouthpieces).
The technician will also need at least 10 Alcohol Testing Forms (ATFs) and tamper-evident tape if your EBT Device does not print tamper evident self-adhesive labels.
Federal regulations require specific training for individuals operating approved devices involved in EBT testing. This includes testing for federally regulated employees under the 49 CFR Part 40’s Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs.
This training course is designed to comply with device-specific education requirements for both DOT and Non-DOT standards. (**It does not cover basic information and training for students who are new to breathe alcohol testing or those who are looking to add this service to their repertoire. Continue acting as a DOT Breath Alcohol Technician by obtaining the necessary recertification for use of an EBT Device in as little as 3 hours.
