Executive Summary
Iran is the third largest oil producer in the Middle East and has the world's second largest gas reserves, after Russia. Iran maintains ambitious plans to significantly increase supplies of both, but under-investment in its upstream industry is the limit. The EPC/D contracts that had been held for the development and production maintenance of 28 reservoirs are reviewed. More than $3 billion will be spent on these projects for drilling 320 new wells and 184 workover operations.
New EPC/D tenders are to be announced soon regarding the development of ICOFC gas fields. POGC to announce new infill drilling tenders in South Pars gas field. NISOC Gachsaran 12 is about to finish the tender submission process and enter the evaluation phase. NISOC Pazanan development plan is under negotiation and will be declared soon. The NISOC Ghaleh Nar development plan has not been declared yet. NIOCEXP onshore IDS (Integrated Drilling Services) tenders are in the evaluation process. The drilling phase of DDC/NISOC Nargesi project is about to finish. DDC received LOI for drilling one exploratory well in the Belal gas field from PPARS Co.
OKDC is about to receive LOI for workover operation on four onshore wells in the Darkhuein field. Tight jack up supply will be the main problem of offshore drilling projects during the year. Negotiations are being held for awarding Azadegan oil field development to the Iranian E&P Companies’ Consortium. Awarded IPC projects are in the feed preparation and planning phases. Sepehr/Jufeir and Aban/West Paydar projects are operational.
