The satellite ground station, or SGS, collects and transmits remote sensing satellite data to various consumers and applications. RAVN-X is expected to facilitate the launch of small satellites.

Satellite ground station systems are designed for transmitting and receiving signals on the internet, telephony, backhaul, and other services. Interference in the satellite ground station operations severely impacts the performance of the satellite and results in a significant loss of income for the operators.
