Trends in the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), connected vehicles, and advanced manufacturing technologies are likely to impact the skill requirements of the automotive workforce.

As of 2021, the automotive industry in Malaysia employed over 700,000 people, including those in manufacturing, sales, and after-sales services.
