This food safety webinar will provide an overview of the Safe Food for Canadians Act, and will highlight some of the key elements we are likely to see in the regulations and expected to impact imports and exports. These regulations are scheduled to be introduced in draft in the Fall, with implementation targeted for mid-2015.
This 60-minute webinar is aimed at all companies in the food and beverage industry (including external advisors and consultants) who do business, or want to do business, in or with Canada and specifically, companies who move food over the border between the US and Canada. These companies should be aware of the new Canadian food safety environment and how the new regime is likely to impact imports and exports.
This session is designed for all participants in the food chain, from manufacturers to suppliers to distributors and is focused on helping foreign entities and those with offices on the ground in Canada ensure compliance with the Safe Foods for Canadians Act and its related regulations.
Why Should You Attend:
The Safe Food for Canadians Act was promulgated in November 2012. It (like FSMA in the United States) overhauls Canada’s food safety regime, consolidating a number of commodity-based statutes into one, omnibus legislation. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) has sent some signals about what we are likely to see in the Regulations that will provide the detail around how the new regime will work. This 60-minute webinar is aimed at all companies in the food and beverage industry (including external advisors and consultants) who do business, or want to do business, in or with Canada and specifically, companies who move food over the border between the US and Canada.
