Supervisors and managers will learn and demonstrate effective communication skills for meaningful conflict intervention and resolution. Each participant will design a strategy for conflict resolution using a real life workplace conflict situation.

Conflict and tension build in a work group and customer service is suffering. Two merged departments never really merged and productivity is secondary to criticism and back biting. An employee and their supervisor have personality conflicts and can’t get along but need to function productively. The effect of the conflict is starting to be seen in others employee’ productivity. Conflict is an inevitable part of the normal work environment. The key is to manage conflicts early and effectively, before they develop into major problems.

Areas Covered in the seminar:

  • Participants will complete a self assessment inventory related to conflict issues.
  • Each participant will be able to assess a conflict situation and describe the various elements creating the conflict.
  • Supervisors and managers will learn and demonstrate effective communication skills for meaningful conflict intervention and resolution.
  • Participants will describe various conflict intervention strategies and how each method impacts the resolution processor.
