Methodology:

Triangulation technique was used to conduct the survey which includes :

1. Primary Survey:

  • Conducted in two rounds:
    • Vegetative Phase: This phase serves multiple purposes, gauging the crop health, weather condition during the vegetative phase, availability of water/moisture etc. and more importantly during the phase ground truthing is done for remote sensing acreage mapping / estimation. The survey was conducted under the supervision of a senior Agronomist.
    • Harvesting Phase: Primarily focused on estimating yield by leveraging weather parameters obtained through remote sensing technology. This phase involves a farmers' survey to gather data on crop yield and also to know the impact of weather on the crop if any.

2. Secondary Survey:

  • Focuses on important weather parameters influencing wheat crop production, including rainfall, temperature, soil moisture, and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). Remote sensing technology was utilized to collect and analyze secondary data to supplement our primary survey findings.
