Automotive CPDS is used to detect the presence of occupants, including children, in vehicles and monitor their movements and activities while traveling. CPDS sensors integrated into vehicle seats, seat belts, and door panels continuously monitor occupancy status and provide real-time data on the number and location of occupants. This information allows caregivers to ensure that children are properly secured and supervised during transit, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.

In addition to preventing hot car deaths, Automotive CPDS can alert caregivers to the presence of unattended children in vehicles, even when the vehicle is in motion. If a child is detected in the vehicle while in motion, CPDS can activate visual and auditory alerts, send notifications to caregivers' smartphones or connected devices, or trigger automated responses such as activating the vehicle's horn or hazard lights. These alerts help caregivers intervene quickly and prevent accidents or dangerous situations.

Mexico has become a key manufacturing hub for the global automotive industry, with numerous international automotive manufacturers establishing production facilities in the country. With 3.5 million cars produced a year, Mexico ranks seventh in the world among countries that manufacture passenger cars, according to the International Trade Administration (ITA). The United States is the destination of 76% of the 88 percent of automobiles produced in Mexico that are exported. The Canadian government has implemented various regulations and initiatives to improve vehicle safety standards, indirectly impacting the adoption and integration of CPDS. For instance, Transport Canada manages car safety recalls, which deal with vehicle safety flaws or violations of safety regulations. If a CPDS-related issue is identified in a vehicle model, Transport Canada may issue a safety recall to ensure the manufacturer takes corrective action to address the issue. Therefore, the market is expanding due to the expanding automotive sector and rules about child safety in automobiles in the region.
