Gain helpful tips for editing AIA documents and managing product data in the online service.

This program will provide an overview of the AIA families of contract documents, providing a ‘deeper dive’ into editing the most common owner/contractor forms (A101-2017 and A201-2017) from the perspectives of the owner and contractor. Since many of the clauses in these forms appear in other AIA contracts, the discussion should also be helpful to construction managers, subcontractors, and design professionals. In addition, since many of the revisions to the A101 and A201 flow down to subcontractors, any revisions to these forms’ standard clauses are of particular importance to subcontractors (regardless of their ability to modify such clauses as nonparties to the general contract). Finally, the topic will examine contract clauses that affect everyone, such as insurance, indemnification, limitation of liability, instruments of service, and dispute resolution. Clauses on these topics may appear in multiple contracts so that we will address potential edits from the vantage points of the different players on the construction project.
