Marin Golcic University of Rijeka, School of Medicine, Croatia.Dr. Marin Golcic is a Medical Oncologist consultant currently associated with University Medical Hospital and Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, Croatia where he is providing oncology education on several different courses. He also has with working experience in the first Croatian Hospice, where he obtained his PhD in 2019, published several high-impact palliative care manuscripts and is currently serving as a Chairperson of the Pharmacotherapy Committee. Dr Golcic has taken part in several ESMO and ASCO Programmes and received a ESMO Palliative Care Fellowship in 2017 leading to a programme in The Royal Marsden, UK. He published 19 peer-reviewed scientific papers, serves as a scientific reviewer for various journals including BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care and American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr Golcic also wrote a book chapter on Palliative and Hospice are in the Republic of Croatia (Silbermann et al, Springer 2021).
Tomi Kovacevic Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, Novi Sad, Serbia.Dr Tomi Kovacsevity is a Palliative Medicine Specialist, the first one in Serbia since 2017, who is supporting patients with a cancer diagnosis through supportive and palliative care and attending supplemental education in the field of oncology. He currently works at the Institute for pulmonary diseases of Vojvodina in Serbia, and is associated with Faculty of Medicine in University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He holds a PhD in Medical Science and recently completed an EUPCA leadership in Palliative Care (EQF 7). He also serves on an Expert Committee for Palliative Care in Ministry of Health in the Republic of Serbia as well as a consultat on European Training Academy EUTA in Belgrade, Serbia. Dr Kovacevic is educated in Palliative Medicine, Palliative Care Leadership, Applied Engineering in Health Management, and is involved in International Projects, giving him a unique insight into real-world data and practice in pain treatment.
Amir Radfar A.T. Still University, USA. Professor Amir Radfar is an assistant professor in Medical Education in University of Central Florida, with Postgraduate education both in Oncology (Harvard Medical School, USA) and Palliative Care (EUPCA Leadership Course, Germany), which makes him an ideal editor for a book on both topics. Professor Radfar is working as a Director of Research Services in Avicenna Medical and Clinical Research Institute and is a co-author and collaborator of the Global Burden of Disease Study (Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, USA). He functions also as an institutional representative at International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care and is a board member of MEDICHEM. His editorial activities include serving as an academic editor for PLOS ONE, the Journal of Oncology and the Journal of Environmental and Publlic Health.
