Understand how building codes impact the design and construction process.
This presentation will look at building codes within the greater context of the regulatory framework in which they function to provide the minimum requirements to construct, adapt, or alter a building. Model codes serve as the basis for state and local laws and ordinances. Each governmental jurisdiction has its own means for reviewing and approving projects. Understanding the process and the context in which reviews and approvals are achieved is the key to a successful resolution of code compliance issues.
