The JEC Composites Innovation Awards celebrate outstanding achievements and collaborative efforts within the composites industry. The winners of the 2025 awards were presented during the 2025 edition of JEC World - a composites exhibition which took place during March 4-6, 2025, at Paris Nord Villepinte, Paris, France.

The awards focus on projects which demonstrate: strong partner engagement across the value chain, technical complexity and significant commercial potential.

Award winning projects featured in this report include:

  • A full-scale demonstrator of a single-aisle commercial aircraft fuselage section made from carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTPs)
  • A robotic system for manufacturing large-scale composite structures which provides end-to-end automation for the preforming of large composite structures
  • Carbon composite body-in-white vehicle components which are able to compete with aluminium in terms of carbon footprint, cost, performance and weight
  • A hybrid technology which enables three-dimensional (3D)-moulded components to be produced in the form of a lightweight, material-efficient sandwich construction using a fully automated process
  • A material which combines carbon-negative igneous stone and bio-based fibres such as carbon fibre made from a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor derived from algae
  • An induction heating (IH)-based pyrolysis technology capable of efficiently recycling carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRPs)
  • A high-end carbon fibre-based furniture range
  • A technology capable of creating digital twins of components made from composites during production
  • A project dedicated to accelerating the use of thermoplastic composites in shipbuilding using Industry 4.0 concepts
  • A project demonstrating the technical, economic and environmental relevance of thermoplastic wind turbine blades
  • A patented three-dimensional (3D) structure comprising a honeycomb core and a glass, flax or hemp composite.
  • As well as the award winners, this report provides information on notable runners-up in the JEC Composites Innovation Awards 2025 in the Aerospace and Automotive categories.
