The system allows passengers to pay transit fares using cards, cell phones, and smartwatches by swiping on the ticket machines. Payment can be made by domestic or international cards. Similarly, in May 2024, the payment company Littelpay partnered with OASA to launch contactless payments across its entire transit network in Athens. This initiative begun with the implementation of contactless payment technology on the Athens Airport Express bus line; enabling riders to pay their fare by using a contactless bank card or mobile wallet.
