Target Corporation is America’s second-largest discount retailer. The company was founded in 1902 by George Dayton, and was originally named Goodfellow Dry Goods. The first Target store opened in Roseville, Minnesota in 1962. As of January 2016, Target operates 1,792 stores in the United States. Their retail formats include the discount store Target, the hypermarket Super Target and stores that were previously branded City Target and Target Express.
