The Middle East & Africa region has some of the penetrated mobile markets in the world that provides a fertile ground for smart agriculture. As the use of smartphones is becoming common within the farmers, the smart agriculture is witnessing growth in the agricultural sector. The region majorly grows wheat and barley which are the staple crops. Additionally, other crops like rice, maize, lentils, chickpeas, vegetables and fruits.

In Africa almost about 874 million hectares of agricultural land and within this 83% of the land have serious soil fertility or other limitations and will need costly improvements and amendments to achieve high and sustained productivity. Rising demand for new agriculture practices to increase productivity and rapid growth of the populations are also expected to propel the market growth. However, unaffordable cost of the equipment by the farmer in developing countries (middle and low income countries) and lack of awareness amongst the farmers are anticipated to restrain the smart agriculture market growth in Middle East & Africa.
