This Food labeling training will address all key label elements including the many faces of the Nutrition Facts Panels.
Labeling requirements for different types of food products all are subject to the same basic rules. These rules take on different forms depending on the type of product, ingredients, package size, label design elements, and various claims made. A brief survey of food products found in any supermarket will show a variety of approaches in fulfilling the labeling requirements in effect in the US. We will address all key label elements including the many faces of the Nutrition Facts Panels. The presentation will include many tables showing key reference information as well as resources of details too extensive to cover in this session. It will also include many graphics and examples demonstrating how the rules apply and what labeling options may be available.
