Regadenoson is a type of cardiovascular drug used to diagnose and treat coronary artery disease. It is a selective A2A adenosine receptor agonist that is administered intravenously to induce coronary vasodilation. This allows for improved visualization of the coronary arteries during cardiac imaging tests such as myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). Regadenoson is also used to assess the severity of coronary artery disease and to evaluate the effectiveness of revascularization procedures. Regadenoson is available in both generic and branded formulations. The most commonly prescribed branded formulation is Lexiscan, which is manufactured by Astellas Pharma. Other companies that produce regadenoson include Mylan, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Sun Pharmaceuticals. Show Less Read more
