Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection that is found in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. Infectious disease testing for dengue is used to diagnose the presence of the virus in a patient. Diagnostic tests for dengue include serological tests, such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) and rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs). These tests detect the presence of antibodies in the patient's blood, which indicate a current or past infection. Molecular tests, such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, are also used to detect the presence of the virus in the patient's blood.
There are a number of companies that offer dengue testing products and services. These include bioMérieux, Abbott, Bio-Rad, DiaSorin, and Hologic. Other companies, such as Alere, Becton Dickinson, and Cepheid, offer molecular testing products for dengue. Additionally, there are a number of companies that offer point-of-care testing products for dengue, such as Chembio Diagnostics and SD Biosensor. Show Less Read more
