Pixar is an American computer animation film studio based in Emeryville, California. It is best known for CGI-animated feature films created with RenderMan, a photorealistic 3D rendering software. The company has produced 17 feature films, including the first fully computer-animated feature Toy Story (1995). The studio has earned seven Golden Globe Awards, 11 Grammy Awards and 16 Academy Awards. As of May, 2006, Pixar operates as a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
